A Portrait

This one is photography.

Her trench coat is open at the neck

You can just make out

The curve of her left breast

She sits against a pole,

Clutching flowers in her right hand

She has a faraway look

In her eyes

Her pearls are delicate

Her hair is pulled back

Her feet are bare

She does not smile

To Find Home

In this one, you're happy.

You have found your voice.

Your roots touch the earth,

Your grandmother's voice is familiar.

Here, the sparkle in your eye

Is not a tear.

Here, body and spirit unite.

There's blood on the stone where you're sitting now

But you're pristine

There are shreds of tattered garments

But you're in robes

I may never see you again

But here's my hope:

I dream my best dream for you

To find home <3
